So at my mthly appt yesterday the nurse tells me that the computer says I need to get blood work every trimester due to the fact that my THC levels were high. At first I didn't knwo what THC was but then I realized it's related to your thyroid. After the nurse leaves, the Dr. walks in and says "everything looked great with your blood work." So of course I then tell her what the nurse just said and she says 'it was a little raised but your thyroid levels were fine so we'll just recheck it next trimester." Anyone else experience this? I hope when they check it again, the levels are down. Not sure how to take this but my Dr. didn't seem concerned at all.
Re: TSH Levels
You're right...should read TSH. Woops...I don't even know waht THC is...lol.

Yeah. I had blood work back in January thru my primary and I was on the high side of the range, but still within normal limits. Below the "normal" range, they list a separate table for each trimesster if you are pregnant and the 1st tri show it increases and then 2nd & 3rd tri is goes down. I"m hoping I was just out of hte range and that i'tll come back down. In hindsight, I wish I had asked what my level was...but then I'd be more obsessed....lol.

So your results showed your thyroid wasn't functioning properly as well? This is just all new (and confusing) to me. Thanks for responding.

This happened to me with my first. If your levels were far enough off, you'd be on medicine like MrsLettie said. If it's just a little off, they're probably just going to monitor it to make sure it doesn't get further off.
My levels weren't awful, but far enough off that I am now on Synthroid. And it's a life-long condition, I just didn't know about it until I was pg. They monitor my levels every year when I'm not pg and much more frequently (I think every 8 weeks) when I am pg since being pg can throw your levels off & I'd have to adjust my meds.

Yes my thyroid isn't working much at all. My ob sent me to a perinatologist to keep track of my levels and he said it was the highest TSH he had ever seen. Awesome distinction, right? But he is very hopeful and hasnt said anything to worry me. With my first pregnancy I had something similar to your situation. My levels were close (too low that time) and they checked me in the second trimester and I was fine. No meds needed at all that pregnancy. (sorry I guess I should have mentioned that one first...
