Play Kitchens

Those of you who have a kitchen set for your LO, which brand/model do you have?  Why do you like it or not like it?  After hearing some of you talking about them, I think it's something my DS would like, but there are so many out there with huge price differences.  What is it that your LO's like about them (what do they do with them at this point)?  Thanks ladies :)

Re: Play Kitchens

  • Charlie LOVES his kitchen. Loves it. We have the Step 2 New Traditions Kitchen. We got it from Target for $60 during one of their holiday sales, but even full price its like $85. Its small (which is great for our apartment), but has a lot of moving parts and sounds and comes with 29 pieces of play food and dishes.

Its the perfect size to keep in our kitchen so he can "cook" while we cook - which he does. I adore it and am so glad we got it.

  • Jackson has had a fisher price one since he was about 10 months old and freaking LOVES the thing.  He plays with it every single day and will sometimes play with it for 15+ minutes at a time, which is forever for him.

I bought it at a big consignment sale for $15, which was a steal.  I'm not sure if they make it anymore, though.

I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.

DD got this for the holidays as well. She LOVES it and like you, we paid $15 for it at a consignment sale. :)

  • We have the step 2 lifestyle custom kitchen, purchased from amazon. LO really likes it (I picked it because there are 7 different doors / drawers to open and close). I think she'll like it even more as she gets older and understands the pretend portion of it.

Right now she uses it more to open and close things, and move things around. She also really likes the phone and pretends to be on calls all the time. :)

  • Last Christmas, DS1 got a step2 kitchen. Both boys love it. LO likes to open the doors and hide things in the cabinets and pretends to talk on the phone. DS1 is 5 so he's into making DH & I meals or pretending to cook.
