Gift for AP Momma's 2nd Baby

Hello all!

My sister is having her second baby. She doesn't know the gender. The first one is 2.5. My son is turning 1 in Feb. and she and I have been sharing everything back and forth. She gave me her books, maternity clothes, baby clothes etc. I gave her back the maternity clothes (plus more that I had got), the smaller baby clothes that LO is out of (plus more that I got), my car seat, my bouncer, my swing, my preg pillow, my boppy lounger, my pump and accessories etc. She has a sling, ERGO, and Cybex 2 Go. Anyway-- I feel like she has everything she needs for this baby but her friend is throwing her a shower (which I have now jumped on, and wouldn't have normally done esp because she has everything and it's her 2nd) and I want to get her something. But what?!?!

Anything super cool come out in the last 2 years for AP that she might not have?

TIA

  • Does she have a stroller?

I consider myself to be pretty AP- but we do have a stroller, we invested in a boogie board for the stroller for DD (who was 26 months old when DS was born) so she could "ride."  I have an ergo and DS ended up in it just as much as the stroller, but having the surf board for her has been handy.

yeah or a Sit n' Stand stroller.  my neighbor got one for her second and actually used it way more than she thought (they never really used a stroller for their first but found it much more handy with two... sometimes the baby was being held but the baby seat stroller area held all the diapers and stuff!)

also my go-to gift for any mom:  Paper plates and utensils.  nobody needs to do dishes when baby is born.

or frozen entrees for her freezer!

  • I'd do a giftcard to a takeout place near her... OR a giftcard to a restaurant and a promise to babysit the night she goes out (if she's comfortable with that... I've never left my little one so I wouldn't be, but I know a lot of moms would love that)...

If she's into baby wearing, she still may want a new carrier. You didn't list any wraps on your list. Is she into such things?

This is true- w/ my DD I didn't know any better and was given a bjorn, then I bought myself 2 WAHM-made met tais. DH gave me a GC to ergo.com for Valentine's Day before DS was born, and I ordered one w/ the NB insert, and then picked up the coordinating diaper bag off of one of those deal a day sites.

  • Thanks! She just got the Cybex brand new so I don't think she needs another one. She didn't get into the wraps last time, she just used the ERGO. I would offer the baby sitting thing, but I live 4 hours from her. I am going up when the baby is 4 months to help out and so stuff like cook, clean, babysit (the baby or the toddler or both!). Thanks for all of the ideas! Keep them coming! :)
