Finally got the giant poopslosion I've been waiting for! (TMI, obvs)

When jenny_jeff posted about her DD's explosion the other day, I dare say I was jealous! Haha...DS has had such issues with pooping and constipation. Well today he gave me the biggest explosion we've had since starting solids. Yay! We're talking up and out the back and through the leg of the diaper. While trying to get his onesie off (I took it off the other way...removed arms and pulled it down), poop got all over his legs and feet and then he started trying to suck on his toes. Straight to the bath we went!

That was a fun dipe to spray off. I've never been happier about cleaning up poop though! Hoping for more regular poops here on out!

I hate to say it but....NICE! What did it? DD has been struggling with constipation too.

I'd been trying to give him prune juice but he didn't want anything to do with it. He liked it when he was 4 months and it helped then, but recently, he just wouldn't take it when I offered it to him. So I started mixing it into his solids. I even mixed some prune juice into his jarred prunes! Hahaha...

I also tried a trick that jenny_jeff suggested, to let him drink little bits of prune juice from a straw, by putting my finger on the top of the straw, KWIM? He's much more willing to have it that way. I just fill up a bottle with 2 oz of prune juice and make sure to get it in him somehow by the time he goes to bed. Whether it's by mixing it into his food or having him "drink" it with a straw. That seems to have helped...crossing my fingers it continues. GL to your LO!

Thanks! She just got her first taste of prunes and I hope that helps. I wanted to introduce prunes earlier but it has been difficult to find organic. I will have to try the prune juice trick. DD is obsessed with straws so it might just work.

Congrats! Your LO must feel so much better! We dealt with a lot of constipation at the beginning of solids. I think it takes a while for their little tummies to adjust. Were finally back to normal here. Lots of water with solids helped!

yay for poopy baby! i don't think anyone understands the joy of poop til they have had a constipated baby. lol

YAY!!! I totally know how you feel...and I'm glad the straw trick helped!  Just a heads up Abbey ended up having about 4 more poopslosions the next day....

Yes! Thank you for the tip. AND thanks for the heads up about what could be in store for us tomorrow. I bet you were rejoicing significantly less by poopsplosion #4.

I now give LO prunes (a half of a jar of organic) everyday due to constipation - she's SO much happier when she gives big giant poops!!
