I know this is super early, but I love to plan events. I just finished planning my mom's 60th, and that was a huge hit! Now, I have moved on to planning LO's 1st b'day party by pinning all sorts of ideas on Pinterest.
Anyone else as crazy as me? Anyone have any themes or ideas already planned out?
Re: LO's 1st B'day plans??
I picked the theme even before Ty was born and I've been randomly planning the party for several months! I just need to pick the date and where we'll have it (huge family and small house so we'll have it at my parents, ILs or DHs grandparents since they have a pool!) and I'm almost finished planning!
PS - the theme is Very Hungry Caterpillar. Initially I planned it because I love the book, it was the first book I bought for him and the colors will provide fun decorations. Plus, he's a hungry little boy!
Definitely not crazy! I haven't started planning per se, but I've started thinking about it. What's your pinterest? I need ideas!

DH and I were talking about it the other day. My SIL is due June 6th (yay another June baby in the family) but poor Bell will probably be without her grandparents for her first birthday due to the new arrival. Originally we wanted a Nemo/Sea theme with around 50 people but now we are thinking of tossing the idea and just going on vacation. She can have a cupcake in Paris (or wherever) for her first birthday. Hope that doesn?t make me a bad mom

This, exactly. I am not huge into themes, so we will see if she is super into something by June.
DD1 (now 6) loved anything Baby Einstein so we did her cake like the Baby Einstein caterpillar, had a Baby Einstein Birthday banner and then just did primary colored balloons and paper products.
That's a super cute idea!

This. No friends though. DH and I aren't really into bday parties. We never had them growing up. I think I had one bday party at the roller skating rink (Holla!!). I never felt cheated or different from other kids who had huge par-tays and I loved hanging out with just my mom, brother, and grandparents. So DD will have small, family parties for a few years. When she is older, we might start the party thing.
I already have an idea for bday celebrations with DD (or other kids) are older....Princess for a Day :-) DD gets to design an entire day of activities for us to do...she picks what we do, where we go, what we eat, etc. It sounds good in my head, not sure if its a good idea in reality or not :-P
Ya, nope! LOL!
I have done the huge 1st birthday with my 1st daughter (100 people - all family) and hated it! She was very over whelmed, as was I! For my 1st son, I was skipping it, but was pity-partied into it by my family. I HATED it (again, a BIG party!) and Liam was not happy. So this time, Aiden gets a SMALL, intimate party. No theme, just a few helium balloons, a small cake and cupcake (for smash) and that will be it
Even with my older kids and parties, THEY chose small parties with just our family over big friend parties until they were in grade 1.
We're doing this too, and already have some stuff picked out. I actually got some matching napkins today at Hobby Lobby and bought some decals for the walls at Target. Since she came early in April, I figure it's not too early to start planning...right?
