google can help with a lot of things, but this is a message board- for posting messages about baby names. Lighten up.
we are probably going with Rhys and love it. Its different but not out there and once corrected, no one will get it wrong. People mispron my daughters name and I never thought they would, so its not a big deal to me.

Google could have helped to let me know the prnounciation and the origin, but it wouldn't let me know if people are familiar with this spelling /pronunciation. I asked several friends and none of them knew the name or pronounced it that way. Perhaps somewhat regional.

Yup, this.
You would be wrong. And sound silly. It's not even that uncommon in popular culture:
Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Rhys Ifans
I love Rhys for a boy.
I've said it before, but it bears repeating:
Rhys = Male
Reese = Female
Reece = candy
I think you got the candy and the female mixed up....:)
Rhys = a name that is about a thousand years old. So, it's been around for a bit.
I absolutely love Rhys, and DH and I discussed it at length for DS. Things like this post are one of the main reasons we didn't go with it.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers = HOT!
Rhys = awesome name, just not widely known in the US

Also a July 2013 Mom!
This is funny to me- when I lived in England, I taught no less than 8 Reece's (that I can remember)! It's a fairly popular name there.
uh huh.
this for us too. We love the name "Reese" for a boy but couldn't agree on the spelling for fear people wouldn't pronounce or spell Rhys correctly.
