So we have been AGONIZING over a name for our 2nd son, due in 3 weeks... Our first son is Wesley, nn Wes. I have semi strict criteria for our names which are the following: classic name but not too common, something that is very steady over time (not trendy), family name, fits with the rest of the family (Robert, Elizabeth, and Wesley going by Rob, Liz, and Wes), one syllable nickname if possible, and something we both like. This has been VERY hard.
The one name we keep coming back to is William, nn Will. It is slightly more common than I prefer, but I LOVE the name. The major problem is, I HATE using same letters... ugh! Like when people name their children Kasey, Kylie, Kadence, and Kameron or some nonsense. It is just so NOT me.
BUT... does it make a difference if the names are 2 classic names? We know a John and James that are brothers and it has never bothered me. So are Wes and Will too matchy matchy or does it not bother you? Thanks so much!!!

Re: Same first letter dilemma... opinions please!!!
If you are going to use mostly the full names Wesley and William, then I say go for it, the names, even starting with the same letter and having an L in there, sound differently enough
but if you'll be using the nns Wes and Will.. ehm.. I'd avoid it, they sound way too similar for my taste

I don't care for the same letter thing but with only 2 kids I don't think it's a big deal.
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
