Cloth Diapering

CJ's BUTTer

Got 2 different scents as freebies from some purchases (loved monkey butt, DH said oatmeal, milk, and honey reminded him of public restrooms cleaning chemicals).  Going to try the other scents too (samplers are great!).  It did seem very greasy though on my hands where I tested them.  This is really cloth diaper safe and won't cause repelling issues?  Or should I still use with a liner?  I don't care about stains since I figure poop will just add to the lovely color of a used diaper, I just don't want to strip frequently if I don't need to.

  • Yes, it's CD safe.

  • Funny. I hate the Monkey Farts scent but love the oatmeal and honey scent!  I bought a sampler and like more than half of them. Also the small containers in the sampler aren't bad for the diaper bag.
  • Mango sugar mint is the best! We used it with every diaper change when LO was a newborn because she pooped so much and it caused a lot of irritation on her bum.

  • I need to try the oatmeal one.  I ordered a bunch of samples and didn't love any of the scents I got (I got around 10 of them).  I think I'm in the minority there, though.  I didn't like Monkey Farts but I think I'd like the oatmeal one.  Lullaby Baby Lotion is my favorite to use on DD.  Anytime a rash starts to appear, I use it and it's gone in no time.

Oh, and yes! It really is CD safe.  I think I read on their website that most repelling issues happened when used with a homemade detergent.

  • I didn't think that about the oatmeal one until DH pointed it out...now that's all I can think about!  Maybe it will smell better on baby.  I figure once I run out of the gazillion samples I ordered, then I'll order tubs or tubes of the top "flavors."  I was a little hesitant to try the orange oils or other citrus oils.  I guess I worry about them being too acidic for the skin...though I would love my baby to smell like a sweet orange!  LOL!  Does the tea tree oil one help with yeast infections?  I figure it's used to treat fungus in other sites so not sure if it would do the same for a baby's bum.  I saw that they also have a specific one for yeast though.  I think the small samplers would be great for when LO goes to daycare too.  Keep a bunch there so they have CD safe ointments to use.
