  • It's totally normal.  I spotted a few days in my 6th week and I have a healthy baby in my belly still!

  • It is probably implementation spotting. That is when the embryo attaches itself to the uterine wall... it usually causes some cramps and minor spotting. I had it twice... once at like 5 weeks and again at 6 weeks. My guess is that the baby is getting settled! GL and dont worry!!!

  • 1) Don't read all the horror stories. You'll drive yourself nuts doing this, and most of it doesn't apply to you at all.

    2) Light spotting isn't terribly uncommon in the 1st tri, and neither are cramps. Just call your OB on Monday and talk about it--that might help you calm down a bit Smile If it gets worse or doesn't stop, contact the OB on call.

    3) Someone posted it was probably implantation bleeding...it probably wasn't that at 6 weeks. Implantation bleeding is very light spotting that occurs from the blastocyst implanting into the wall of your ute; the spotting will present itself within the next few days, if it does at all. This is typically right before your period would be due if you weren't KU.

Just relax (I know, easier said than done!!), and find solace in the fact that chances are, you're perfectly fine, and so is your LO.

  • thanks everyone! trying hard not to worry :)

  • According to "What to Expect" implantation bleeding happens at the end of week 4. Remember that due dates are estimates and your baby is on its own personal journey and timeline!

Yep, which is why I said hers probably wasn't implantation bleeding if she is indeed 6 weeks along. Although, you could be right; if she ovulated late in her cycle, it could be implantation bleeding at 6 weeks since her last period. Mine are 35 day long cycles, so my implantation bleeding actually happened 4 weeks+3 days past my LMP, right before my period was due to start again.

  • I had some spotting in my 6th week, and I called my doctor who said it was completely normal.

  • Stop reading all the bad stuff. I did that when I first found out I was pregnant and was just terrified of miscarriage until my first sonogram and found everything to be normal. I am considered high risk since I have a hormone imbalance due to my PCOS. I had spotting at 4 weeks and then a tiny bit at 6 weeks but my doctor says that is completely normal. I stopped reading all that junk and my nerves have calmed down a bunch.

  • I am 5w1d and started spotting 4 days ago. When I spoke with my Dr. he said that it was probably implantation bleeding and not to worry about it. I don't have my first u/s until the 27th so now I am taking it easy and trying not to worry. GL
