MH's sleep study - NBR obvs.

MH had a sleep study last night.  They found that he stops breathing 60 times an hour and his oxygen levels dip to below 50%.  Surprise

They actually woke him up to put him on oxygen during his session.

He goes back to get fitted for a cpap in the next couple of weeks.  Fingers crossed it makes a difference!

  • Damn!  Those cpap machines make a difference.  My sister's BIL who's 18 has had one for several years and he says he feels like a different person when he doesn't use it.

  • Thanks for reporting back...I was curious how the sleep study turned out!

  • That sounds about like my DH. I was sooo glad he did it!

He had super high BP before which has now been corrected by the CPAP machine. He has also lost about 20lbs, too. He hates when he falls asleep without it now because he doesnt get into deep sleep. Brandy, I hope you are able to convince your DH to do it!

Everything in this post. It's like pulling teeth to tell him "You snore so bad. PLEASE go to the DR".

  • Woah!! What were the obvious signs to you that he needed a sleep study? My H snores REALLY loud. His dad actually has sleep apnea so maybe DH should go get checked. He hardly ever feels rested when he wakes, maybe that could have something to do with it?

Snoring, stopping breathing, waking with headaches and generally just feeling tired all the time.  I would say definitely have him get checked!

  • wow! i'm so glad he went!  I'm sure he'll feel like a different person once he starts using it, he'll feel so much more rested in the morning.

  • Not only is he getting a cpap but they gave him an oxygen tank as well.  It's already been delivered!
