How long after a m/c did it take for your hcg levels to get back to 0?

I went to the ER on Dec 14 2011 and found via u/s that we had lost our baby. I was in my 8th wk of pregnancy. I bled up til about the 21st. At the ER the dr said my levels were going down correctly but didnt say . I had my follow up appt w/ the obgyn on Dec 20th and she had me get bloodwork done the following week (I went on Dec 27th). I hadnt heard from her in the week about my results so I called yesterday (Jan 3 2012). I was on the phone setting up my DS checkup w/ a new dr when the drs office called in so I  had to let it go to voicemail. When I listened to the voicemail, a nurse had talked to the dr who I saw on the 20th and said that my levels were at 118 and she wants me to go on Jan 20th to have bloodwork done again to make sure Im at 0. Im hoping they are almost at 0 again.. It seems like my levels are taking forever to get back to 0!

I'm very sorry about your baby.  I had a m/c on 12/9 and bled for about 3 days.  I took my first BHCG test about 1 week after, and I was at 82.  I took another today and it was "less than 5".  I hope that helps.

I would be interested in hearing what others have to say about this as well.  I started bleeding on Dec 5 and on Dec 12 it was confirmed via u/s we had lost our baby.  I was 6 weeks pregnant.

I saw my doctor on Dec 19 and he is having me get blood drawn once a week until my levels are at 0.  Tomorrow is one month since I started bleeding.  I'm still not at 0 and haven't gotten my period yet.

I'm not much help on this as my doctor never did bloodwork after my D&C. I just wanted to tell you though that I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss.  (((hug)))  I never got told what my levels were, but I got an (almost) negative HPT at the Dr.'s a week after my loss at 10+ weeks.

I hope your levels drop fast!

Sorry for your loss. I hope your levels drop quickly. My story is not normal, but I am now 52 days post- D&C and my levels were finally at 10 last week. But that is a really long time, and it's because I had retained tissue. ((hugs))

I'm very sorry for your loss.

    This was my experience:

Nov. 1st  - missed m/c at 8 weeks. Baby only measured 6 weeks. Hcg levels were 27000.

Nov. 18th - with the help of cytotec I miscarried (sac was passed).

    Dec. 6th - hcg levels were 6.

Dec. 27th - I finally got my first post m/c AF.

FX that your levels are at 0!

i had a miscarriage this month as well - i however had to have methotrexate to help move it along - before the methotrexate shot my betas were # 1800 (that was on 12/13) - ive had my betas checked weekly since then and just today they've finally come down to 0. i was told it can take some time, and have read as well it can, so i prepared myself for the worst. i bled for about 2 weeks, and haven't bleed for about 2 weeks and now im finally back to zero.

It took over 2 months for my hCG to get to below 2.  Granted, my levels were relatively high when I miscarried.  They were over 16,000.  My levels dropped off pretty quickly after that but once they got into double digits, it took about a month for them to get below 2.

The only time my levels were checked was after the ectopic and that was because they had to make sure the methotrexate was working.  I never had betas done with the other 2....

((HUGS)) so sorry for your loss. I had a m/c at 8 weeks a week prior to you & a d&c done that same week. I bled for about the same length of time too. My levels just got to 0 as of yesterday. I had to go in for blood work for about 4 weeks (once a week) until they got back to normal. So, I would say just about a month it took to get those levels down. It seemed like it was taking forever but the past month went real quick! good luck!! I am sure you will have a big 0 on the 20th!!!
