Discovery World DayCare

I am considering using Discovery World located on Durango for infant childcare. I am due in May 2012 and am just beginning my search. I haven't even toured yet. I am having a hard time finding reviews on this place. Does anyone know anything about it - or can recommend another learning center/daycare near downtown?

  • I don't have any recs, but just wanted to say welcome! I'm due in May too! :)

  • I don't have first hand experience, but I've heard that that daycare closes and reopens under a different name often due to state licensing issues.  It's also right on the curve from the IH 35 N off ramp onto Durango, which would make me nervous since that's where the playground is also located.  If you're looking in the downtown area, my daughter went to St. John's Lutheran Dayschool off Nueva (between St. Mary's and S Alamo).  It was a good day care and many of my co-workers also have kids there.  Another good daycare downtown is First Presbyterian Children's Center off Alamo, which is more expensive.  Both St. John's and First Presbyterian have wait lists, so it's best to find somewhere sooner than later.
