Those who have dealt with Thrush- Need Advice

So DS has thrush. It is all over the inside of his mouth. He started treatment last night. He also has a crazy yeast infection in his diaper. I had been mostly EP until about a month ago where I now nurse 2xs a day and anytime at night. I called my family physician and asked to be treated as well. They wont prescribe anything until I become symptomatic...

Should I call my OB? 

 I dont want to pass it back and forth...I have had thrush and it is awful. I feel bad that LO has it now and I definitely dont want to make it a cycle...

    I am sorry you are dealing with this and hope LO beats it soon. DS had it really bad when we was a baby and couldn't get rid of it for anything. The pedi said to give him gentian Violet  it's crappy (turns their mouth purple) but it worked. As for you I don't know.

    DEFINITELY call your OB. You both need to be treated or you could wind up just passing it back and forth. Good luck!

    So sorry you're dealing with that. We just managed to get rid of thrush after a month of passing it back and forth.

    I would definitely call your OB. Like you, I mostly EP and nurse him at night sometimes. I didn't have thrush when LO was diagnosed and wasn't given anything for myself. One week later I had it too.

    We used "Nyastin." The information sheet the Dr.'s office gave me to take home said I could use it on my nipples too, which seemed to help some.

    I would probably tell my ob "it burns like hell when I nurse" lol then they will treat you. You can also use gentian violet on you but it will turn you purple!

    I would tell the family physician that you are symptomatic now. Really if you go untreated then it's just a matter of time before you will be. I condone this type of lying.

    just use the nystatin on your nipples too.  my midwives also recommended using apple cider vinegar.
