Hi all I've never posted on this board, but we did bedsharing for 4 weeks from when DS was 3 weeks to 7 weeks, and once I moved him into his crib he started STTN 9 to 11 hours.
Now at 6 months he is sleeping 4 to 6 hours at night and waking up. I go in and hold him and sing to him and he goes back to sleep. This has been going on for a few weeks now.
I tried sleep training, it made things worse, he was super clingy and he started screaming every time I put him in his crib when he was awake, even if I was just going to go do laundry, and he never minded being in his crib before
I really didn't want to bring him back in bed with us because I wasn't sleeping well, but now I'm not sleeping anyway! So I'm just wondering how everyone is safely bedsharing with a LO that is mobile. Any other suggestions on getting him to sleep at night would be much appreciated! Thanks ladies!
Re: Safe bedsharing
We still bedshare with our almost 2 1/2 yr old about 50% of the time. The only difference between now & when she was younger is that around 8 months we had to get bedrails because she rolled off 1 time. However we got a bigger bed when she was almost a year old & never put the bed rails back on. She sleeps in between us & when my husband gets up in the morning he turns his pillow sideways to help block her from going off on his side. We've had no problems with that. I think 1 or 2 times she rolled off the end of the bed but was fine.
The biggest issue is that she moves A LOT & tends to sleep perpendicular to us. So she ends up kicking one of us in the head/chest/stomach.
