CD Question (prompted by Bunnymama's stinky poop post)

Do you know when your LO goes poop in a CD? DH and I can never smell it. Once we open the diaper we can, but it is always a surprise. When he is in disposables the stench is awful.

It took awhile to get DH on board with CD'ing but now he likes them more than I do. He said he didnt realize how bad disposables smelled. DS has major poop burn right now from an antibiotic and the CD safe diaper rash cream was not cutting it. I picked up a pack of sposies and desitin yesterday and DH was sooo bummed out that I told him not to use the CD's...

Yep...they seem to hide the smell a bit.  Daycare says the same thing.  If I haven't heard her go, there are times I've opened the diaper to a rather unpleasant surprise.

Usually I can't tell if lo has pooped until we change the diaper - but now that we are in solids, every once in awhile lo has an epic poop that can stink up the house! Those we know as soon as they happen!

I have to be right up near his butt to smell it, but I can.

Poor C must be super stinky cause I can always smell it in her CDs... heck half the time she farts I think she has pooped because they stink that bad.

Sometimes. I have to get pretty close and smell her though.  It definitely masks the smell much better than sposies.

I have the same issue...if I don't hear LO go (which I usually do because he has 1 massive poop every couple of days), I can't really smell it through his CDs. I have to get my nose right up to his bottom. It always has me worried if he wakes up I night that he pooped and I just can't smell it.

Haha DH and I always laugh about this. We especially can't smell it when he goes in his night dipe.
