Re: prenatal music

  • My FI wants to get one of these more as a joke than anything. He think that if he conditions the baby in the womb to like his music then I won't taint baby later on. If my FI wants to waste the money to get one then he can have his fun. I'm allowing him to have his fun.

  • I'll definitely play our favorite bands for the baby later on. My mom played Bruce Springsteen for me through headphones stretched over her belly, and with what I love now, it seems to have had a huge impact. DH and I are very, very into music. Not that I think it has any sort of big developmental impact. We just can't wait to share what we love with our child.

  • We will be playing music for the baby but just using regular earbuds.  We already bought the Springsteen lullaby album for the baby and hope that if we play it prenatally it will calm the baby later.  The dr said there's no harm in trying so why not??

I wouldn't waste my money, personally. Singing to the baby will have a better effect.

This!  I'd rather have the baby hear my voice or DH's over a random singer.

  • I don't know if I would spend the money on it.  My husband and I were looking into the ones w/ like the bella band w/ the pockets & speakers that run around $50, and I didn't even want to spend that much.  I have a friend who just gave birth in July and they bought everything under the sun.  So, I had the great idea that anything we think of to check w/ them first.  She has this band from Nuva and currently using it as a crib surround sound system to play lullubys.  My husband should be picking it up from her tonight for us to borrow the next few months until our little girl is born!!  I will let you know how it is.  According to reviews on Amazon, it's very highly rated and people say it is very comfortable.  Since I am not spending anything, I definately want to try it out.  But if I had to pay, I think I would pass.  Baby hears a lot while in the womb from daily activities.
