blood in poop?

For about 2 months my LO was on a one big poop per day routine. Then the last week he's been going a few days without taking a sizable dump, then would have a big blowout. I know that their routines change as they get older, so I didn't think anything of it.

Then last night we heard a big one and when we went to change him it was very green and it had the tiniest streak of blood in it. He doesn't have diaper rash, and we don't see any small cuts on the outside of his bottom, but that doesn't mean that's not what it is. He seems perfectly happy, he's not fussy, and doesn't seem to be in pain when he's pooping. He's still eating well (EBF) and having lots of wet diapers, and this morning he took a little poo and it was back to normal. 

Has anyone had this happen before? He has a doctors appointment already scheduled for next week for his 4 month shots.

Blood in the poop usually is a sign of milk intolleranc or allergy.  We just brought in a poopy diaper the day of her appt and they tested it right there.

Yep, same thing happened with our LO.  I EP, and out of nowhere one day, a tiny bit of blood showed up in his dirty diaper.  Pedi said it was a milk protein allergy, as LO had no fissures.  Our LO never shows any signs of discomfort either, and the blood only shows up maybe once a week.  I just started eliminating dairy from my died about a week and a half ago - I have been told it can take up to three weeks for the dairy to be completely eliminated from your BM though.
