This year has been an intense roller coaster. Some of the best experiences of our lives, and some of the absolute worst. This year, we took our first real vacation... Two of them to be exact. First, in February, we went to Disneyland for DSD's national dance team competition. It was so awesome! Second, in July, DH and I went to Punta Cana, DR for my BIL's wedding.
In February, also, we welcomed our first nephew on DH's side of the family and in December, we welcomed our first niece on that side as well. And, we discovered we'll have a third niece or nephew arriving in August.
DH's mom and (step) dad got divorced after 30+ years. I put this down in the good memories because he's an evil, horrible control freak who abused DH's family in many ways throughout the years.
We received our first BFP in September; or second in December. Though we miscarried the first one and may be miscarrying the second, those BFPs will go down as happy memories for 2011.
I'm so thankful for these good memories. They make the bad ones much more bearable. As you all know, and as I stated above, we lost our first baby and there's a chance we'll lose this one, too. A very dear friend passed away over the summer. We discovered my half sister has terminal cancer.
While it's a bad memory that has brought me to the After Loss boards, the fact that I have met and gotten to know so many of you amazing women will forever be a good point of 2011.
It's just so strange to think that this has definitely been the best, and the worst year of my life. I want to thank all of you ladies for your incredible support over the past couple of days.
I realized something last night. Tuesday is our third anniversary. Hopefully we'll get an amazing gift by seeing a heartbeat on that sonogram and much improved bloodwork results, getting 2012 off to a great start!
