DH drama (MIL related)
DH has to have his gallbladder out, our Dr suggested a surgeon, i've made sure they are in network, called for an apt, we're all set. well MIL wants DH to go to the surgeon she went to. MIL is a nurse so i trust her judgement, but it just annoyed me that she's insisting that he go to this surgeon! she's usually not like this, so i guess she feels strongly. but now i have to call my dr and explain that we want to go with this guy and yadda yadda yadda...

I can relate in a sense... My MIL tried her hardest to get me to deliver at the hospital she works at.... I told her repeatedly that I had been to the other hospital numerous times, had a surgery there, and it was easier to get to from our house.... She drove me nuts with it! The crazy thing is, her best argument for the place was that they had queen size beds. Forget that I'd spent countless visits to their house listening to her complain about the incompetent nurses she works with and all the other issues.
I could understand your MIL suggesting the surgeon she went to, but it's a little pushy to insist he go to the same one...
well the surgeon works at 2 hospitals out here so we are goingt o the one closest to us that she does NOT work in.

That is exactly what I did. My doctor would go to either location. For me, it was a privacy issue. I didn't want my nosy MIL digging in my chart. So at least if I was at the other hospital, she wouldn't have a valid reason to be digging in my chart.
