My SILs are on a roll this week...

At SILs house on Monday, my 2 year old was repeatedly told he wasn't allowed to touch the walls (he used them for balance when going up/down stairs as the railing was a little high)...srsly? He's 2, he's just trying not to fall. His hands were clean, btw...its not like he just ate or anything.

Then the same SIL  acted annoyed when I locked her bedroom door to pump and some friends of hers asked for a tour of their house..I told her I was pumping and she said "Well, are you done now?"

Now my other SIL texts us today to tell us to meet at this restaurant tonight to celebrate BILs birthday (her brother, not her husband). I told her I wouldn't be able to get a sitter with 6 hours notice (esp for a newborn and toddler), but I would send DH alone. She told me to tell him to come straight from work (he was supposed to pick DS up from the sitter) and to bring cash for the ice cream cake. Not that it matters, but she and her husband both earn 6 figures a piece, they need to have us contribute for a cake? We already got BIL a gift....and neither of us ever carry cash.

I'm cranky from lack of sleep, can you tell?

Re: My SILs are on a roll this week...

  • How frustrating!!!  I'm assuming they don't have kids?  My SIL said some hurtful things over the last couple of years, but mostly because she really didn't get it.  She's pregnant now and I hope the light bulb goes off and she realizes how wrong she was.  For example, she is my husbands sister and his ONLY family.  She booked a vacation 2 weeks before I was due with DD2 because it was our second child and not important like the first.  (I was slightly annoyed that she didn't want to be there to celebrate the birth, but really hurt at her reasoning.  A second child isn't less special because it came second.)
