I grew up with a Kira and it seemed like everyone spelled her name wrong... or mispronounced it.

I knew a Kira growing up too, but I don't think she had any pronunciation issues. FWIW I think I'd probably pronounce Kiera differently from the other two (more like Kee-air-ah instead of Kee-rah).

A Mom in our Mom's Group spells her daughters name Kiera and pronounces it Keer-uh.

Personally I think they are all confusing to know how to pronounce/spell.  I actually can't tell what pronunciation you are using.  I think it's "kee-ra" but I'm not sure. 

It's nms because of the ambiguity.

I like Kira and Keira equally. I believe they have different backgrounds, but are pronounced the same. I think it comes down to personal preference.

I like both Kiera and Kira.  Knowing some German, I can't stand the "ei" version of anything being pronounced the wrong way.  So to me, Keira would be pronounced Kye-ruh.

I like Kira b/c its the Russian version of the name, and I love the meaning behind it, but I'm also hesitant to use it b/c of DeathNote.

In all honesty, the other two versions have looked misspelled to me :-/

I grew up with a Kiira.  Always thought it was a pretty name and pretty spelling.

I prefer Kiera, as it is the traditional Irish spelling, and one of my cousins is named Kiera Margaret

I have spent an insane amount of time looking into this name!  DH and I both really like it, but I'm struggling with locking it in because of all the variations of spelling and pronunciation.  Here's what I've come up with...

According to the Social Security list of names, the spelling Keira (Keer-uh) is the most popular, followed by Kira (also pronounced Keer-uh).  The spelling Kiera is typically pronounced Key-air-ah.  Then there's all the other variations that I'm not even going to touch!  If we go with this name, I'm leaning towards the spelling Keira mostly because of Keira Knightly... seems as though most people recognize the name the way I would like it pronounced because of her.

ETA: I have heard several people pronounce Kira as Keye-rah. *sigh*
