There are lots of great OB's in The Woodlands.

I see Dr Tara Winkelmann at All About Women: https://www.allaboutwomenobgyn.net/ She did not deliver my first so I have no experience there but have been very happy with her, her nurse and the office staff during this pregnancy.  I never wait much past my appointment time to be called back and don't normally wait long after that to see the doctor.

The ones I've seen most recommended are:

Dr. Marco Gianotti: https://www.wha-obgyn.com/index.asp?IDPages=2, also heard good things about Dr Reeves and Behne at this practice

    Dr. Beena Johnson: https://beenajohnsonmd.com/

Dr. Raj Syal and Dr. Holly Westmoreland: https://www.woodlandsobgynassociates.com/ This is a VERY busy practice with long wait times, both to get appointments and at your visits.  But they are both good doctors.  Holly delivered my first and I loved her but switched due to how long I waited at appointments and not personally loving the rest of the doctors/staff in the practice.  Just my experience and I dont think it reflects on the quality of those doctors)

    Dr. Jennifer Breazeale: https://www.kelsey-seybold.com/find-a-doctor/pages/jennifer-breazeale.aspx

As for hospitals, I dont think you can go wrong with either Memorial Hermann or St Lukes.  I delivered at MH and was very happy with it.  I have friends that have delivered at both and never heard a complaint.  I'd go with your Dr/Insurance on that.

    I second Dr. Breazle-love her.

I delivered at St. Luke's in The Woodlands and was very happy with them. The nurses are wonderful as is the pedi who saw my son after he was born.

If you are willing to go out to Tomball, I recommend Dr. Davidson and delivering at Tomball Hospital.

    https://www.lauradavidsonmd.com/

I just had an unexpected preterm delivery and I had to stay in the hospital for almost a week (my water broke early and we were trying to keep LO in for a while).   They are not a super busy hospital (L&D) on average and I got super personalized care.   Some of the nurses even called up to the hospital to check on me on their day's off and etc.  The anesthesiologist on-call even spent the night at the hospital the night that I was having complications with LOs heart rate and we knew delivery could be any time.

DS #2 being here is nothing short of a miracle and I have my dr and those nurses (and hospital staff) to thank for that (that and all the tons of prayers we got from everyone).

I third Dr. Breazeale (pronounced Brazil). She's great. Practical but nice and easy to work with and I like her staff.

It depends on what type of birth do you want? Are you wanting medication at some point in your labor/birth? Are you looking for a more natural approach to labor and birth? Do you want a combination of both?

Are you hoping to labor at home for awhile or labor at the hospital for the entire time? Do you have specific needs or desires? This will help me to know who to recommend. :)

I delivered at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands with Dr. Beena Johnson and it was a very good experience. I went into labor spontaneously on a Saturday. Because it was the weekend, there was only one anesthesiologist working. I delivered very quickly without pain intervention, which was not my plan. However, compared to my medicated first L&D, recovery was a breeze. I loved the nursing staff at Memorial Hermann. Dr. Johnson has a small practice and I was treated like family there. All in all, a great experience.

I use Dr. Shelby Hampton and loved her.  She has a wonderful bedside manner.  She delivers at Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands, and I enjoyed having both of my babies there.

I use Dr Andrea Richter-Werning at All About Women and love her & the practice.  I was actually looking on the board for Memorial Hermann The Woodlands experiences when I found this post..lol

Thank you all for your insight. It is very helpful. As for type of birth I am open to exploring a Midwife as one of my good friends is one in NYC. But I need to get more information on how this works. Do any of you know if the Midwife comes  in the room in addition to the a Dr? If St Lukes or Memorial H allow this? If I dont go the midwife route- really looking for warm and helpful. right now our dr talks fast doesnt seem to care and I have to ask all the questions. Thanks again everyone!
