Sister's boyfriend got his child into the doctor last week. Tested for diabetes and low and behold she is a healthy. Doctor said the weight gain could be her hitting a growth spurt yadda yadda. But there was absolutely NO REASON his mother should have been pricking this poor child's finger to "test" her sugar level.
Sister's bf has informed his mom she must stop this behavior now and that the child is healthy and NOT a diabetic per Doctor. His daughter came over to my parents late yesterday for Christmas gifts and my mom asked her about going to the dr. and the little girl said I'm fine but I have to eat "diet stuff". NOT AT ALL ANYTHING THE DR. said. So now this poor child is being exposed to THAT kind of crazy behavior by the boyfriend's mother.
Dude seriously needs to get his child OUT of his mother's care ASAP.

No kidding. I feel sorry for this little girl. I'm just glad to hear he got her to a doctor. Hopefully that will be enough to whackadoo grandma to quit home testing her.
