"I Know the Truth About Santa"

My friend's 3yo told me he knows the truth about Santa! Santa doesn't fly around the world delivering gifts. Mommy and Daddy buy gifts...Santa just moves them from the guest room to under the tree!! Wink Duh.

  • Wow, who told him Mom and Dad buy the gifts?  Your friend?  I think it's sad that a 3yo is told that Santa does not buy the gifts, why even tell them about Santa then?

Seriously?  It seems to me that the little guy saw the presents "hidden" (not well) in the guest room and then saw the same under the tree supposedly from Santa and made his own conclusion.   That's pretty much how I figured out the Easter Bunny.  Time for a better hiding spot!

But it was not Christmas yet when he realized so I figured that he had not opened his gifts yet.  If he saw them and he realized on his own it is stil sort-of sad b/c my son's memory would let him remember that from when he was 3 but I would feel bad for the parents if it was not intention.

The other day I was in a store and there was a Mom with a kid around 4 or 5 who was talking about Santa right in front of him so it was obvious that the kid knew the truth and the Mom was just plainly talking in front of everyone.
