Cleaning out the fireplace...

in Pregnant after a Loss

We want to turn our fire place on but need to clean/sweep the ashes out. My husband will be doing it, but is this dangerous for me or the baby? TIA

    I don't know if it's dangerous or not but my instinct says not to do it unless you're wearing some sort of mask so as to not breathe in the particles (I'd do that regardless of being pregnant or not).

    I just did it last week and didn't even think about it.  We have a broom and little dust pan thing so it wasn't like I was "in" the fireplace.

    I wouldn't think so unless you're burning something you're not supposed to (pressure treated wood). I clean ours all the time, its our primary heat source.
