My DH and I (early 30's) have been TTC for 16 months and a few weeks ago I had laparoscopy to remove what turned out to be a totally blocked tube and had hysteroscopy to fix a uterine septum. I know that you don't necessarily ovulate on alternating sides every month, but we're set for IUI #2 the next time I'm ovulating on the side where I still have a tube (such a weird thing to say!). For those of you who were successful after lap/ hysteroscopy, I'm curious how many cycles it took and what the protocol was. We're doing 50mg Clomid + Estradiol assuming the next sono gives us the go-ahead. Thanks for sharing your experience!
TTC since 8/10.Hypothyroidism, put on Synthroid. Clomid 50 mg + IUI Oct '11 = BFN. HSG found blocked tube Nov '11. Lap + Hysteroscopy to remove tube and fix septum Dec '11. Cancelled following cycle due to lack of response to Clomid. Jan/Feb '12 Clomid 100mg + Folllitism + HSG + Vivelle Dot + IUI #2 = BFN. 3/30/12: Natural Cycle BFP - beta 59 @ 12dpo, beta 286 @ 16dpo
Baby boy arrived 12/8/12!
Re: Did Lap/ Hysteroscopy result in BFP?
I was successful on 2nd IUI after the lap. (3 failed IUI's before the lap). But I had totally different issues than you do. My lap discovered stage 1 endo - fixed it up and got pg the next month (lap and then IUI in Sept, got pg with next IUI in October)
Clomid never worked for me since it effed up my lining pretty bad, so my protocol was injectibles (maxed out doses of Repronex CD3-9) Trigger. IUI.
My successful cycle I had 3 mature eggs at time of trigger and 3 that were 1mm from being mature and could easily have become mature by time of O. So 3 for sure, and possibly as many as 6. Thankfully I only had 1 baby.

When you took Clomid, did they also give you estrogen? I asked my RE about thinning of the lining with Clomid and he said they prescribe Estradiol to keep that from occuring. Congrats on your two lovely girls!
After my hysteroscopy I got PG naturally. I was waiting and waiting for AF to arrive after the procedure to start my IVF cycle and when I was about a week late I called the doctor and asked if the procedure causes a delay in AF and he said no so I tested and holy surprise is was positive! Unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a m/c.
I had a hysteroscopy pre-IVF and they removed a septum. I got pregnant and it stuck from IVF #1 (I'd m/c the time I got pregnant naturally.)
Our primary problem was MFI, but we suspect the miscarriage could have been from the septum.
