We did Thanksgiving the Saturday after for 24 people. Not all at once of course, I barely have seating for 10 if you count the couches. A good time was had by all. The food was good, no one broke out into a fist fight and no kids were hurt. But I was completely exhausted because we basically served dinner in three shifts.
I offered to do it again for Christmas. But this time, it's only my side of the family (10 people) and only one meal. This should be a breeze compared.
Re: what was I thinking?

Wow! I couldn't even imagine!
Are you making something semi-easy to cook for 10?
On Thanksgiving we borrowed a turkey fryer and had the following:
Shrimp cocktail
Cheeseball
Turkey
Ham
Mac and Cheese
Green Beans
Dressing
Corn Pudding
Mashed Potatoes
Gravy
Cranberry Sauce
Asparagus
Crab Rangoon
Rolls
Pecan Pie
Tiramisu (sp?)
Oreo Cookie Pie
For Christmas we couldn't borrow the fryer again, so the man went out and bought the infrared turkey fryer thing. So we are having:
chedddar almond bites
red and green pepper cream cheese bar
turkey
dressing
green beans
broccoli casserole
corn pudding
mashed potatoes
gravy
rolls
red velvet cake

I should have thought of that.
TTC #2, Operative hysteroscopy March 2011; IVF #1 long lupron protocol April 2011-cancelled due to poor response; IVF #2 flare protocol May 2011=hospitalization due to abdominal hemorrhage during ER and no fert due to MFI issues. Moving onto international adoption from Moldova January 2013!
Sounds delicious - and tiring!
Except I say switch the turkey for ham so you can have ham gravy. OMG so good.
Good luck!
My first haircut!
