Sharp shooting pains in vagina?

I am 18 weeks and this morning while getting breakfast I had several sharp shooting pains in my vagina. They would stop me dead in my tracks and almost take my breath away. I would have one then a few secods went by and I would have another, and this went on for about a minute and I haven't felt it since.

 Has anyone else had this happen? or does anyone know what might be causing this?

I have had it a couple of times now...no clue what it is but it stops and I have no other symptoms...

I get them too! Usually when I am sitting but sometimes when standing or  moving. Its not RLP but my Dr said they are normal, most likely a pinched nerve from a growing uterus.

My sister, who has two kids already, warned me the other day- "just wait until you start getting lightning crotch!" Scared me, but your description sounds like what she mentioned. I'll bet it's normal.

Your baby is probably laying very low and putting pressure on your cervix.  I had this with my DD later in pregnancy and my OB said it was because her head was very low.

I havent had it this pregnancy yet but did several times with DD.  It is one of those weird normal occurrences.

Your baby's kicking a nerve.  The pain can extend down into your legs.  Perfectly normal.

I will be 18 weeks on Saturday and I had the pains this week..ugh..
