Sore Throat

My husband has a virus. Hasn't been feeling well for a couple of days now. Very achy and flu like symptoms, but the doctor said it was only a virus. I slept in a different room last night but am starting to get a sore throat. Can I take anything? Any suggestions? Please help.

My OB's office told me that since I'm so far along, I can take almost anything now.  I would call your doctor's office to ask a nurse what they recommend.

My dr's office said I could take regular sudafed or regular robitussin.  The pharmacist looked at me like I was crazy when I bought the sudafed...but as long as you don't go crazy with it, my OB said it's better to be able to breathe (if that becomes a problem) and take something than to not.  Feel better!

I have a cold and I called my doc today. He said sudafed or Tylenol, nothing more... The sudafed is more for congestion, and it has really helped so far. I got the 24hr one. It doesn't do anything for the sore throat, but need to get rid of the congestion first!

I was given a script for cough meds with codeine. Also instructed to take Tylenol cold (Tylenol with sudafed). I had been trying natural remedies for a week and kept getting worse.

Run a humidifier at night.  It cleared my sore throat up right away.
