Or any other great Broadway show recently? We're going to NYC this summer and I'm trying to find some Broadway show tickets. I've read some reviews of Wicked and most are great, the others are miserable. I will add, that some of the bad ones seem to be written as if their older people. That's just the gist that I get. Thanks!

Re: Anyone seek Wicked on Broadway?
I saw Wicked when it came to town (not in NYC) and, honestly, was just "eh" about it. Which was disappointing considering the rave reviews I had heard.
My go-to show, always, is Pantom of the Opera. I'd see it 10000 times if I could. (And that one I *have* seen in NYC - amazing!!!) Shockingly, DH feels the same.
I'm not sure what else is playing right now, but if you want to post I'm sure I've seen several of them. . .
Last time we went to NYC I really wanted to see Rock of Ages, but we ran out of time
After two losses, third time was a charm.
pm me for blog link
I saw Wicked in NYC almost 3 years ago. We went for my boss's birthday and I was maybe 6 weeks pregnant with Katie.
It was AWESOME. Truly a great show. You won't be disappointed. What did the negative reviews say?
Beth I LOVED IT! I've seen it four times (three times in DC and once on Broadway. Some performances are better than others, but all in all, I love the show. If you like the Wizard of Oz, you'll have to suspend your imagination a bit for it.
I also heard the Book of Mormon is supposed to be hilarious. If you haven't seen Jersey Boys, that's supposed to be good too. ok, I keep thinking of more - My sister loved Billy Elliott and I saw Memphis last year. I liked that one, but didn't love it.
Hope you have a great time, no matter what you go see.
I saw Wicked when it came to DC and it was great!
Other good ones would be Jersey Boys or The Lion King.
Wow, that was full of errors! First, had anyone SEEN Wicked and secondly, "written as if they're older people." That's what I get for rushing!
The reviews are that it was boring, not like the movie (which I already don't expect it to be), that it's more for teenage girls, hard to understand the words/lyrics, some people left before it ended, etc. Some called it a Prequel, but that it went "round and round" about the Witch of the West. Some said it was not like the book Wicked (which I assume they think is better than the musical). People either LOVED it or truly detested it. I wanted to see the Lion King, but it stops on July 1st and we'll be there July 6th. BOO.
I saw Wicked opening week, and 6 times since.
It is wonderful, fun, interesting, well staged.
See it!
Wicked is great! Really.
Other great shows out right now: Book of Mormon (but it's WAY sold out), Rock of Ages (movie comes out this summer), Priscilla Queen of the Desert (very good), Billy Elliott (kind of sad, though), Jersey Boys (really and truly awesome), Phantom (a legend)
