DCP's girls had pink eye last week, were treated, and were better as of last night. This morning DCP called and said they have it again. DD is home today (she was all last week too). I know that after 24 hours of treatment they shouldn't be contagious, but I am worried that she could still get it through coming in contact with toys or other things in the home. My first reaction is to keep her home for the rest of the week, that may be unrealistic though. What would you do? I am really worried she will get it and be sick for Christmas, well really, I just don't want her to end up with it period. I can't keep her home forever though.
Re: Pink eye
Unless she has a compromised immune system or something, I wouldn't be too worried. Pink eye isn't that big of a deal.
My cousin's daughter had pink eye for one day!! I watch her during the day and once she got to my house the morning she had it... She had matter in her eye, the corner of her eye was very pink, and it continued to produce matter throughout the day. I let her mother know and her doctor surprisingly did a call in without seeing her eye!!
My point is, she was around 3 other kids all day and they never got it. Maybe it was just luck, but I think your LO should be fine
