So, how are you entertaining the kids over break?

We're going to a couple of local Christmassy attractions. One is a playdate and the other as a family once DH is off on Friday. During the day, I am thinking crafts. It's supposed to be rainy for part of the week.

Tomorrow is pinecone or  TP roll peanut butter birdfeeders. Tuesday is the cinnamon dough ornaments from Martha Stewart. I just got some construction paper, so we may make paper chains for the additional Christmas tree we inadvertently ended up with. It's now the kids' tree. There may be some salt dough in there somewhere.

I don't want to make cookies. We've had enough sweet shiit in this house this month to last quite a while.

  • This week will be pretty easy. It's an action packed week.

Errands and wrapping tomorrow, Tuesday DD is going to help my dad with the Angel Tree distribution for church, Wed is our family baking day, Thursday and Friday will be the usual stuff.

Next week is going to be tricky and then DH will be off too.

  • We're making gifts this week and will probably watch some Christmas movies.  My mom decided to give the boys a bounce house for their birthdays and plans on bringing it over tomorrow, so hopefully that will entertain them for at least a few hours over the course of two weeks.  And H's aunt and uncle gifted us their Wii because they never used it, so we'll probably play some Mario Kart.  I'm getting a gym membership tomorrow and they have a playplace (childcare) there and I intend to take them there at least a few times a week.

I'm reeeeeaalllly hoping all the new sh!t that crops up in our house keeps them busy.  I'm so tired of the fighting and bouncing off the walls.

  • Traveling :)  I'm so excited to get to spend two weeks with A.  She's super fun and I miss her at school.  C... that's a whole nother story.

  • DS1 is going to ski camp for a week (day camp).  He and his little buddy will be in a class together, which is great.  Cheaper than babysitting too.

They are predicting a green Christmas here, which sucks, so I predict we will be at the arena (skating) and at the pool every other day or so.

promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • My kids love being home (not at daycare) so they'll be perfectly content playing with all their new toys.
