I carry TUMS around everywhere! If I get even the least bit hungry, I have to take 2 of them or it gets miserable. Also, water makes it bad too; I can't drink plain water if I don't have my TUMS handy.
Try something with substance to drink, not water. There is no substance to water so it makes it worse. (a lady from PGAL told me that, it actually worked!!) I did orange gatorade, and chocolate milk.

I've been trying to eat less but more often. I'm not overloading my stomach, but also not starving myself to prevent. I am also sleeping with an extra pillow for slight elevation.
3rd pregnancy w/ acid reflux and this one is definitely the worst. I live off of tums, take Prilosec in the morning, Zantac before dinner. Italian, dairy (which I have never had an issue w/ before), and caffeine make it worse. If I wake up b/c of stomach acid (choking) the only thing that has helped that is eating a plain piece of bread.
My Dr has me on prescription ranitidine, which is basically like taking two Zantac. He said the safety in pregnancy is pretty well studied with this drug. I had been taking one at dinner time, which gets me through the night but I think this week I'm going to have to go up to twice daily.
I take Gaviscon like candy, works better than Tums for me.
Me and my Kiwi, both 38. We struggled with RPL and were blessed with Micah. I'm a full custody stepmom to Ethan!

I keep Tums with me at all times now. The acid was so bad Saturday night I could hear it fizzing in my throat. My mouth starts to water, it's awful.
Doesn't matter what I eat either, anything will cause it at this point.
I've been taking tums. I seem to only have this issue when I'm at work. I don't know if it's b/c I'm sitting more at work or what, maybe eating too fast? I don't know. But I take tums when I'm at work, and then when I get home I'll drink some milk to help calm it down.
Tums used to work...until it got worse, no matter what I ate when then they became worthless. Prilosec has recently saved my life. I waited too long though...i still have no voice because my throat is still recovering from all that yucky stuff irritating it all night. Never tried zantac but prilosec worked day ONE! Best move EVER!!!
Re: Acid reflux anyone?
Tums live by my bed...

Haven't broken down and gotten Zantac....YET.
My siamese twin is named TUMS :-)
Milk, but only a small glass, otherwise LO pushes on my stomach and makes me miserable.
Smaller meals, so my stomach doesn't get overfull.
Saltines
Sleeping/laying elevated
But, it's still happening and getting worse it seems, so Zantac is probably in my near future.
