Parenting after a Loss

Rest Assured Sleeper = Fail

We went out of town shopping yesterday andI bought one of thosecosleepers for the bed with the rails. DH and I are scared to cosleep without one. Since DS is such an awful sleeper, and many people have recommended cosleeping, thought it may help. Wrong. He pushed himself up against my side of it and grunted all night trying to get to me. I know he wasn't hungry the entire time. DH gives him a bottle for one feeding on the weekends, and he started right after they got in bed after a four ounce bottle. I think I am a human pacifier. Do you think BRU will take it back if he slept in it?

Re: Rest Assured Sleeper = Fail

  • Sorry Penny. Is this the kind that sits in the bed with you? Perhaps a "sidecar" sleeper would be easier to manage ?

Yep.  It goes in the middle of the bed.

  • Just have to caution you on putting something you've worn in with him unless it's over his legs or something. DH tried to do that with DD and she pulled my shirt over her face and puked on it Sad. Can you try co-sleeping with your DS on the outside of the bed and you in the middle? This helped with DD for a while. Now DH mostly sleeps on the couch because he wants more sleep.

  • He probably wanted to get close to you since it's much nicer to be snuggled up next to mom. I think BRU would probably take it back.
