Caroline went through this awful stage of getting up at 5:30 or so in the morning, and being WIDE awake. It lasted for months...now, I can count on her being down until around 7 or 730...it is glorious!
Except...apparently Parker is now my little early bird. At 5:20 this morning, he was up and ready to eat and battle a new day.
Mommy is NOT a morning person. I don't do well until at least 7:30 or 8:00. I dread months and months and months of this getting up before the the sun business.
Any tips to help the little early bird sleep a little later? His sleep is still sort of all over the place...but he goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:30, and sometimes gets up once at night, mostly twice a night to nurse....and had been sleeping until 7:30 or so, but this 5:30 business is too early.
I'm exhausted...I am probably going to call my mother and beg and plead with her to come over and watch them while I take a nap. I don't get to take daytime naps anymore...and I miss them more than I can say.
:::Yawn:::
Re: And so it begins...
Are you too tired to beat me up if I tell you that you are spoiled? I hope so!
Seriously? down by 8:30, up twice a night to nurse and sleeps until 7:30? You are a lucky, lucky woman...well..you were
**ducking**
Anyways...We just did all the normal things...keeping the room dark as possible, not talking, etc and tried to get him to go back to bed...but it never really worked. sorry
Hopefully it is a short lived phase for him and you can all get back to a good schedule for the whole family!
I know not everyone is comfortable with this (and I didn't think I was either) but if it was a really early morning I would nurse her side-lying in bed and we would both snooze a bit. LOVED IT! I stopped once she was a good mover/roller.
I had a fear that it would 'spoil' her into not sleeping unless she was in my bed, but she is a dream sleeper 12+ hours every night in her own crib and has been forever.
Hope he changes soon. PS I hear you on the daytime naps. That was favourite part of my year long maternity leave
I still live for Saturday and Sunday naps.
