back from the ultrasound! thoughts on early baby engagement?,

got good news! the placenta has risen enough to clear the way for natural labor and vaginal delivery.

we could not see any reason for early contractions or bleeding. however the baby's head is already flush with the cervix and engaged. my daughter wasn't even engaged when I arrived at the hospital inactive labor. wondering if this is a sign?

baby weight was 5 pounds even, much less than I expected. everything else measured right on except the femur which was a week and a half longer than expected. another tall baby!

so, thoughts on early engagement?,

I've heard that it doesn't mean anything...I got my hopes up thinking that it meant labor is quickly approaching but Midwife says that some babys just get locked and loaded early but doesn't mean they're coming out just yet.

I just had a growth ultrasound on Monday. I was 34 weeks 5 days and the baby was 5 lbs even and at 40-45%. So your baby sounds right on target.

I was at 1cm and 50% effaced and head was engaged and at a -2 at 33 weeks. I am now almost 37 weeks and still hanging in there but at 2 cm and 70% effaced so I'm thinking it may be a 2nd time mom thing? I don't know. I'm glad I'm dilating and I'm hoping it means that once labor starts it will progress quickly.

My MW said it is pretty common for 2nd+ Moms and it doesn't really mean anything.

My son dropped at 34 weeks. He was born at 38 weeks. (I think they had my due date wrong). Never know what it means...other than you'll be taking more trips to the bathroom and feeling alot more pressure!
