Joe saw the doctor. Then he said he was going home. So I tried calling and he said "I'll call you right back!" 4 minutes goes by, no call. (Yes I'm neurotic but I'm worried and my intuitions are usually right and I know this is NOT good!)
I texted and said "is it the flu?" He said "No."
So I call and he answers and says "I'm giving blood. I'll call you back!"
I honestly think he has meningitis. I have NOTHING to base that on, other than the severe neck pain. I don't know what makes me think that (other than the neck pain) and the only experience I have with it is our neighbor had it and he was in the hospital for a week. Looked like death. Like it's really serious. (I think there are two different kinds and our neighbor had the worst of the two).
I'm freaking out right now. I just want to know what's going on and I want to leave work and go there. RIGHT NOW! And I can't!
Re: This isn't good! :(
He is poisoned from welding. Or something like that. He said the doctor gave him a name for it but of course he doesn't remember.
The doc said if he gets the chills really bad again, to go to the ER. It could be that the poison is attacking his heart (GREAT!). He gave him an antibiotic and told him he MUST rest for the next 2-3 days. He said he's cold right now and he's waiting for his mom to come pick him up (he's at the clinic where they did the blood draw and our friend had to leave to go get his daughter).
I feel like I should leave work. I mean, there really isn't anything I can do for him but this makes me sick to my stomach!
manganese poisoning?

Z - he doesn't even remember what it sounds like! Good Lord!
He was told that if he gets the chills/really bad shakes, to go to the ER.
He has a burn on his forehead from the welding. They "burst" last night and there was clear liquid that was coming out of it. So basically, it's like having a really bad sunburn but from welding. I guess.
what was he welding!!!! I thought he deals with chainsaws and trees!
How scary! Hope he is ok! (((((hugs))))))
He knows better.
He welds all the time (when there is something that needs to be fixed with the equipment, etc). He said that he didn't put his mask on because he was doing a quick fix. He was literally welding for a minute (or under). Still stupid and lazy but he normally does wear his mask.
Aw, poor guy. I would leave work and go take care of him!

Yes, it is. It's one of those things that you could likely do 1000 times and have no issue. But it just takes once.
Wow. Glad it's not what you thought, though!
Hope he's feeling better soon!
Holy cr*p, Jodi. I'm sorry! I hope he gets better soon.

I feel quite bad for him. He looks like hell and I can just tell that he does not feel good.
He even said he's not sure he will go to work on Monday. LOL He's BAD if he says that. He normally works 6-7 days a week. Taking (potentially) 4-5 days off is unheard of (unless vacation).
