We've been calling the baby "Olivia" for months now and it still seems foreign to me. I can't get the image of the pig in a red dress out of my head. And frankly, my nose is a little piggy nose (did I say little, I meant bigger than little) so I worry about that too. What if she has my nose? How awful!
With that, I worry that changing the name now will confuse our son (2.5 years old). We don't want to confuse the kiddo but I think if we're going to change the name we better do it now (47 days to D day).
Here are some of the names that haven't fallen off our list yet:
Lucille (but our last name is Moore, Lucy Moore too stripper-esque?)
Charlotte
Violet
Claire
Any other ideas?
Bleh, I don't "love" any girl names.
Re: Second thoughts on girl name. Need help.
This is a really sweet post. I'd say if you just don't love the name it's fine to consider other options. I wouldn't worry too much about confusing your DS. At this age most kids just seem to go with the flow anyway. And his baby sister is probably such an abstract concept to him at this point that once the baby is here it will be a totally different thing! Olivia could always be her middle name if you haven't already chosen another.
As for names, I really love your list. Most of the names on it are or were on our list as well. Some others we're considering that may fit your style are: Anna, Eloise, Pearl, Rose, and Ruby. Cora, Elise, and Grace also sound like they may fit with your style.
I also don't think Lucy Moore sounds too stripper-ish. I think it sounds kind of classy hollywood, if anything.
Good luck deciding!
I'm rethinking Olivia because of the pig in a dress, too - even though MIL has been telling people that we definitely chose that name - grrrrrr
Our list is: Olivia, Rachel, Sarah, Gioia, Alexandra, Hannah, Jillian.
I like Charlotte from your list, I don't think your son is old enough to be confused if you change her name, he'll accept whatever name you tell him when she's born and in less than a year, he probably won't even remember Olivia was a name you considered.
love all your names including Olivia.
My first vote goes to Violet (which is my daughter's name)... so I am biased.
but all your names were on our short list too.
and Lucy Moore sounds fine.
BFP #1 9/7/10, EDD 5/14/11, Violet born 5/27/11.
BFP #2 4/9/12, EDD 12/16/12, M/C Rory 4/24/12.
BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
Not a fan of Olivia and it's crazy popular right now.
I like all the names on your list much better. Probably Charlotte or Claire are my favorites.
I think your list is great.
A couple of weeks ago, my son and I watched an episode of Olivia on TV, which was about her name. A new girl whose name was also Olivia joined her class, and the teacher decided to call the main character "Olivia 1" and the new girl "Olivia 2". Olivia (1) didn't like the confusion among her friends, so she decided to change her name to Pam. In the end, she went back loving being Olivia. I thought it was a cute episode.
Proud mother of two breech babies:)
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

I think if you're not feeling Olivia, you should change it. I wouldn't worry about your son.
I think all the names on your list are lovely, but especially love Violet. And I think it looks/sounds great with Warren!
