What is a Santa Gift?? ETA: Never mind!!

The breakfast first or presents first? post below had several replies referring to unwrapped "Santa gifts". We never had this tradition. Could someone fill me in? Do you have one unwrapped gift and the rest are wrapped and from Mom & Dad? That's kinda cool.

Sorry! TB won't let me  Delete. Just saw the post way underneath that one.

Re: What is a Santa Gift?? ETA: Never mind!!

  • Every year my kids get to ask Santa for one gift of their choice. This year, DS asked for a pogo stick and DD asked for a new bike with a baby seat on the back of it. These are the only things they will get from Santa and no, we don't wrap them. All of the other gifts from me and DH and their grandma are wrapped.

I commend your kiddos on their choices! May I just say it's refreshing to see active toys chosen over video games!

  • It is different for all families, some wrap some do not, some give 1 santa gift and some give only Santa gifts.  When DS was a baby I think I did 1 santa gift but the next few years I did 3 santa gifts and last year I did not distinguish but this year I have to since he can read and he asked if Daddy and I would be getting him a gift, he is so generous that I need to make sure something is from us because I do not want him to think that Mommy and Daddy bought for everyone else besides him and DD.  I think I am going to do 2 gifts and a santa sack from Santa and the rest from us, not sure since I did not wrap yet but whatever I do this year will last until they know about Santa.  And if they both get a physically big gift it will be unwrapped, a "wow" gift to run to the tree and see, the rest will be wrapped but Santa will have his own red and white paper and green ribbon like in Polar Express although I could not find striped paper like I wanted.

Don't get me wrong, my kids love their video games as much as the next kid but boy do they love playing outside! I love it :)
