So, this isn't a rant, necessarily, but the whole exhaustion symptom has really been kicking in the last week and a half or so. I fight to stay awake after 7:00 PM, so I force myself to read, shower, or complete little errands here or there to stay awake.
The good news about it is that I used to be a workaholic, and I have been able to relax a little bit with the exhaustion. I would get in the office at 7:00 AM and stay until about 5:00 PM, come home and then continue to think about work. Now I'm strolling in around 7:30 AM and am usually ready to leave by 4-4:30 PM. I haven't told anyone at work that I am pregnant yet (second ultrasound on Monday will be when I tell my boss). It has made me manage my time better so that I can leave early without feeling guilty.
Again, it kind of sucks when I'm super tired by 7:00 PM (or 6:00 PM like today), but it has helped make work a little more relaxing!
Re: Exhaustion & Work
I swore last time I wouldn't work during my next pregnancy. Oops here I am working & TIRED. Then I go home to a busy 2 year old. Of course I adore being with my son but there are times when I would like to put him to bed at 7:30 or make him sleep until 9 on the weekends.
I thought I was going to fall asleep at my desk this afternoon. I've been going to be at 9 (8:30 last night) and DH feels awful because he isn't tired and ready for bed until around 11.
It was such a struggle to keep my eyes open and my brain focused today... ><

This is my first pregnancy and I cannot believe how tired I am. I can barely keep my eyes open throughout the work day. By the time I get home and finish making dinner, I do not have an ounce of energy to take a shower or anything. Today I cried on my way to work because I was so tired and I just wanted to sleep.
Luckily I don't have to work but the look on my doctor's face when at 6 weeks she was telling me I'm pregnant and I'm practically falling asleep in the chair? Priceless.
Let's just say that before I NEVER napped, I hated napping, it was the enemy, now? New BFF. If your body is tired at 7:30, go to bed at 7:30. It could only be good for the baby for the mom to get the rest her body obviously craves. By 8am I'm ready to pass out, don't fight it, sleep is good, and comfy, and cozy.
