nsaifr: Favorite recipe for hash brown casserole?

I've been assigned this for Christmas Eve dinner, but have never made it before. 

 

Anyone have a favorite, fool-proof recipe to share?

1 bag refrigerated hashbrowns (NOT FROZEN)

1/2 cup chopped onion

8 oz sour cream

1 can cream of mushroom

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

black pepper to taste

350-375 until golden brown

easy peasy and a big hit every time I make it...

Mine is really easy and people LOVE it!

1 bag of shredded hash browns

16 oz sour cream

1 stick of melted butter

2 cups shredded chedder cheese

1 can cream of chicken soup

Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes

then take out and top with crushed up Corn Flakes and another half of stick of melted butter- then bake for another 15 minutes.
