Success after IF

PIP" What kind of rash is this on my babys face...

DS has had normal baby acne for a few weeks and then recently got some rough red small bumps on his forehead that seems to be spreading and getting worse. Now its red and rough and splotchy  I dont know if this is dermatitis or some allergy.  He doesnt have a fever or seem to be in pain, but it looks Nasty...any ideas?  Ill call or go to the doc tomorrow?  I also feel like it appaeared or got worse after his vaccinations last week, but may be totally unrelated.  imageimage" mce_src="image">

  • Looks like what our Dr. Called "contact dermatitis" he also used eczema interchangably with CD.

Some cortizone and then steroid cream cleared her up,and then we used Arbonne (From Germanwife!) baby product on her for wash and lotion.  Another general lotion was Cereve which we got from our pharmacy, but it was OTC.

Looks like eczema to me too. We also used a steroid to treat Riley's but he was a lot older than S is. Did you change detergent or anything recently? That is what triggers Riley's flare ups.

No change in detergent...we use dreft and california baby wash products and even when he does bathe i dont usually use soap directly on his face.  Its actually rougher than it appears.  The pic makes it look flat and blotchy

  • My son had something similar when he was about 4 weeks old. Pedi basically said it was cradle cap, except all over his face and head. At the time, we were also having dairy tolerance issues, so she wasn't sure if it was triggered by that. We ended up being told to wash the affected areas with Head and Shoulders shampoo, and then apply hydrocortisone cream to it afterwards. Seemed to do the trick. Nate's was pretty nasty too, it got all weepy and crusty before it got better. Never did seem to bother him though.
