Need help with designating minutes for DD's phone

Hello. I don't post here a ton but I figured this would be a good place to post this. DH and I got Dd#1 (13yo) a cell phone for Christmas. What would be a good number to set for text messaging for her age?

Unlimited. When my niece got her own phone at 13 she sent 80 just to my brother  (her dad- not the parent who got her the phone either) alone in one day.

Unless you can tell her she has X amount of texts, and any over that she will need to pay at .20 a text (do some math for her too, because it doesn't sound like a lot to a 13 yr old) out of her allowance (assuming she gets one).

Or if the phone won't allow texts after a certain amount (like a cut off limit)

I'd just go with unlimited or you'll end up regretting it.  See if you can change it after a couple of months when you'll have a real idea of how many texts she needs.
