My b/g twins should be here any day now.. just curious, whose name do you list first on the Christmas card.. the "oldest"?? I also have a 3 yr old boy. Was thinking to put boy-boy-girl. or would you put boy-girl-boy (if the girl came first?)
We put DD1, then Baby A, then Baby B. If I had three kids and no twins, I would put them in order of their age, oldest to youngest. And techinically Baby A is older than Baby B.
We go oldest to youngest for all of us, but I really don't think it's an issue that requires a lot of thought. It's not a big deal either way, as long as everyone's name is on the card.
I just ordered TY notes with our names on them and listed them by age, baby A (boy) then baby B (girl) after DH and me.
TTK 9/06 / TTC 10/08 / Twins 12/11 / Life Blog 5 REs + 3 surgical hysteroscopies for septum/lap + 3 failed IUIs IVF w/ICSI/AH & acu = BFP!, unexplained spontaneous m/c @ 8w2d (our little girl), FET w/acu = BFP!, B/G twins!, lost MP @19w, dx w/funneling cervix @20w, twins nearly lost to IC @21w, saved by rescue cerclage, 17P & 16w of bedrest Our twins born @36w4d via CS when A came foot first
It's always birth order. Which almost always works with pictures because we go L-R with them - DS, the firstborn is always on the left and DD is on the right.
I always right my kids names down in birth order, even if it's just signing them in at the childcare at the gym. I think when you have 3 or more it helps as a way to keep track. However, you could always do the order they are pictured.

I always just say Nora and Nolan - I don't know why...Nolan is 5 minutes older haha. I also have two older girls so many I'm just putting all the girls first then our boy last....I don't think it really matters!

i write mine in the order i think it sounds best...which is actually opposite of their birth order. even when i am talking about them together i always say "s and o". not sure why, but I notice that pretty much everyone says their names in that order, not sure f it is because that is the way my husband and i do or if it is just the way it sounds "right"/
I always do birth order so Preston, Jordana, and Brady. Of course Preston is only a minute older. My stupid brother things I should say screw birth order and Preston, Brady, and Jordana because it is PB&J but that would be Older Twin, Youngest, and 2nd born twin.

i usually list my kids names in birth order when i'm writing a card or something but this year i did their names in the order they are on the photo... which happened to be DS1, DS3, DS2.... sure, the twins are 2min apart, and I will never let them play the "i'm older" game with each other- but it's just easier for me to do it by age normally.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
Funny you should ask about this. I stressed a GREAT deal about what order to call the boys before they got here. So much that I even ventured over to the scary Baby Names board. I was afraid that Luke and Sam would get called Luke and Laia Skywalker, and that Sam and Luke would get called Bo and Luke Duke.
A MoM over there (Goldie maybe?) gently told me I was over-thinking it juuuuust a little bit.
In the end, I call them Sam and Luke. We picked the name Sam first, and even though Luke is 45 seconds older, Sam just seems to sound better first.

I mix it up, or do like peakay said and put them in the order they're pictured. They really don't look alike but some long-distance relatives and friends don't necessarily know which name goes with which face so I like to help them out a little.
We don't think of one as "older" than the other since they are the same age in any meaningful sense (and who knows who was conceived first ), though I certainly get why other people do so and don't think it's a big deal either way.
We put the names in order of how they sound best. Jackson and Ian has a better ring to it than Ian and Jackson. The fact that Jack was born first is coincidence.

We list them in birth order usually. When we have another child we'll list all three kids in birth order (Mack, Annabel, Baby #3, etc).
