Waiting on the doctor to call back.
My DD has had a dry cough since Friday. No fever. It became productive yesterday. I just gave her a breathing treatment and some cough medicine to help her sleep. I checked her throat and I do see white patches in the back.
In your experience,
Is it possible to have strep without a fever?
Is it possible to have white spots without having strep?
I also thought there usually is not a cough or running nose with strep?
Re: Strep question
my knowledge...but I am not a doctor, just play on on the nest.
1. you can have spots and NOT have strep.
2. You can have strep and not have a fever (I never get one, I just stop eating)
3. You can have a cold and have strep.
4. You can have a bad cold that feels like strep and not have strep.
Basically the only way to find out is to get tested.....it may be, it may not be.
lol
The doctor called back. She thinks it could be viral, but she does need tested. DD's first field trip ever is tomorrow. She thinks if there is not fever, send her and bring her in after. I'm having a hard time with that, but I guess, no fever...
I'd totally send her.....
No fever, then I'd send her!
My DD was diagnosed with strep this week after having no fever, and no symptoms other than a rash! The doctor thought it was viral or an allergic reaction b/c she seemed so healthy. The rapid strep test didn't come back positive, the whole thing was so strange...
Hope she feels better!
