I went with my husband today to get glasses for him and the young, perky, well-intentioned girl behind the tall counter said to me, after learning I am due any day now,"Wow, I couldn't even tell you were pregnant from back here!  It looks like you're really only super fat in your stomach!"  I said, "Well, hah, that's where the baby is!" And she said, "You look great!  I hope I look like that when I get to be your age!"

It's hell to be super fat and old!!

ROFL...   I would have asked her if her employer didn't offer benefits/staff discounts or if she just forgot to wear her contacts.

I am sure you look gorgeous ... I'm super fat and super old and I am only 26 weeks and 5 days.. I am so greatful I have a bad sense of humor to deal with people like that or I might be giving birth handcuffed to a bed with a prison guard as a doula.

I just laughed because I know I am neither super fat nor old.  Although it did make me wonder just exactly how old she thought I was!  She was probably 22-23 and I'm 28!  28 for the first time - I swear!

 OMG. I'm 28 too and if anyone that was probably only 5 years younger than me said "when I get to be your age" my head might have exploded right then and there. I probably would have shot back, "and how old are you, exactly?" Some people just don't think before they speak.

Good for you having a sense of humor about it!  You are not fat, or old, not by a long shot.  She's just ignorant.  One day she'll be pregnant and have someone make a comment to her that's inappropriate, karma is a bigger you-know-what, than any of us could ever be.
