I'm 41 weeks tomorrow, and there have been zero complications with this pregnancy. We had a BPP this morning at 9:30, and the baby basically slept through it, meaning we "failed." I should probably mention that baby's MO is to completely relax when I'm laying down -- she just doesn't move when I'm on my back. That's her "normal" so I wasn't surprised that she was so quiet during the BPP.
Anywho, we were sent over to L&D to have a non-stress test, which she passed with flying colors. But the OB on call (not our regular doc) got pretty worked up about the BPP (the score was 4, btw) and started talking induction. Every bone in my body was telling me that baby was okay, not in distress, and that I was not ready for induction (physically).
We agreed to repeat the BPP at 3:30, and the baby passed the second time in about five minutes total. She was a wiggle worm, practicing breathing like a champ.
We were able to come home tonight, but we go in tomorrow for another non-stress test, and assuming that looks good then I guess we talk about possibly inducing on Monday (rather than next Saturday, which was the original plan before that failed BPP).
I'm happy that we'll get to meet our babe, soon; but I'm also nervous about induction, and having to reframe my thoughts on how we'd be greeting our baby. I'm glad to be home tonight, though, and I'm hopeful that she'll maybe start things up on her own before Monday...
Re: Spent the day in L&D - Blergh.
