flannel cloth wipes

so I want to use cloth wipes and am thinking about making my own. just realized I have two pairs of DH's old flannel pants laying around the house. Do you ladies think I could turn these into wipes? They're not super thick, so I would probably have to double layer them. Or should I just buy fabric at Jo-Anns? I just would rather reuse these pants if possible to at least do something with them. TIA!

They should work fine.  You'll need to serge or hem flannel to keep it from fraying, but flannel wipes are fairly common.  Doubling them or making them large enough to fold and still use effectively would probably be a good idea.

I would definitely reuse before buying new. Just sew a straight edge around the square! Super easy....our wipes are about 8x8 in and I sewed around them. Love using cloth wipes! Single ply for pee, double ply for poops :-)

I use extra receiving blankets or flannel I've bought on the cheap from Joanns combined with my husbands old undershirts to make my wipes. I zig zag around the edges but you can just straight stitch.
