3rd Trimester

repost from Dec board

I have been gone a while, but I need some advice. I have had lots of BH throughout the 2nd half of my pregnancy (more than 5 in an hour a lot of the time) and my MW has kept an eye on it. Also the past few weeks I've had lots of menstrual like cramps. Yesterday I felt awful all day (not that uncommon, I never lost my m/s) and I have felt almost like I am getting the flu in that my skin hurts and I've been a bit dizzy on top of normal sickness and lack of appetite. Anyways, all night last night I was woken up periodically because the contrax were getting a bit painful, and my hips were really hurting. This morning it was worse, and they are probably every 5 minutes or less, and maybe 30-45 seconds long. There's also been more discharge than normal. I was a fingertip dilated at my last appt a week ago. Could this finally be real? I probably would be sure it was if I hadn't had so many "false alarms". Any advice would be really awesome. Thanks so much everyone!

Re: repost from Dec board

  • Sounds like the real  thing? I would get checked out. In my birthing class they said the rule of thumb for contractions and heading to the hospital is when they get to be 45seconds to one minute in length, every 5 minutes, for at least an hour.
