I have been looking around the past few days thinking of getting ds some longies for us to try since so many people love and rave about wool especially for nights. How should I measure him to make sure I get a fit that will last a little while? I did a quick google search but what I've read is that the measurements that are posted are the size of the clothing so it's recommended to measure something that would fit him well already and go from that, however I don't think any of the pants I have for him now would be similar to how longies are made :-/ Also I don't know how they should fit either so is there a way to tell by measuring baby? My next question [and I don't think I saw this in FAQ but I could be wrong?] is there any posts that are similar to the cd abbreviation list but for wool? I assume some of the abbreviations are the type of yarn used but it feels like some of them are written in secret code, which is how I felt about diapers at first till I know what the acronyms stood for lol. Lastly, are there any recommendations of where I should start buying or looking to buy if I wanted to get a new pair without investing a lot, not knowing whether it is going to be a system dh and I will stick with. I've looked a little on spot's corner and fsot, but is still hard to differentiate fair prices considering my lack of knowledge. So any words of advice that could help steer me in the right direction would be amazing
eta: if I were to attempt one of the patterns myself where could i look to find more info about the types of yarn and differences in wool? & remembered another question, is there functionally any difference between crocheted and knitted?
Re: xp: wool newb
As for the wool longies, I ended up buying them locally at an expensive Waldorf inspired toy store. (Luckily my cousin owns it!) I find they all run very different and I was having trouble finding what side to buy. If you can't actually go and look at them, I would buy a size bigger than you think you need.
I'm not sure what you mean about the wool diapers, but I have a really nice set that I bought. They are biobottoms. They are great for summer or winter! I don't know if this is any help at all, but I tried! :-)
